Yoga gives kids a sense of accomplishment as they find new and interesting ways to move, interact and balance. Plus, everyone can do it and no one feels left out. Yoga is very active, which gets them moving, focusing, laughing and playing. Everyone wins.
Astar Yoga Birthday Parties are available in our studio* or in the privacy of your own home.
The birthday party combines yoga, play, and partner games that will engage the kids both mentally and physically. Children learn yoga poses, games, and relaxation exercises, while the “Partner-Poses” and cooperative yoga games inspire positive peer interactions.
A yoga birthday party involves an active hour of fun and games around yoga related themes, poses, and activities. Birthday parties at AStar Yoga run from ages 3 to 14 and each yoga party is custom tailored to meet the needs of your child.
What are the benefits of having a yoga birthday party?
The kids have an amazing time, they learn to move their bodies and create different shapes and poses, and focus their attention and energy. It’s amazing to see them all in complete silence during the final resting pose.
*If you choose the AStar Studio as your party location, the party includes a total of 90 minutes of studio time:
55 minutes of yoga class
20 minutes to serve cake/snacks* outside at the picknick table (*provided by the parents/caregivers)
15 minutes for drop-off and pick-up of kids

- Stress relief is key! A poll was done by the National Association of Health Education Centers on children between the ages of 9-13 years old. It was reported that school was the number one source of stress with family second and friends third. The effects of stress pose a health risk and can also inhibit learning in children. The relaxation techniques that yoga and/or meditation provides can help to manage stress.
- Improved concentration and self-discipline in the students would reflect greatly in the classroom environment. There are a number of studies that have found positive correlations between yoga/meditation participation and academic performance.
- Enhanced flexibility, strength, coördination, motor skills, balance, and body awareness for students means that overall athleticism in the school will improve. More active students means healthier students, which could help reduce absences.
Why Yoga for Kids?
We live in such a fast-paced world! Children are always on the go with school pressures, competitive sports, lessons, clubs, groups, and maybe for older kids even part-time jobs. These pressures and additional responsibilities create stress for children. This is the norm in our society today, however with all of this added stress, there is very little focus placed on stress relief. This bustling pace of our children’s lives can have a profound effect on their innate joy and usually not for the better. Stress can manifest itself in may ways; from physical disorders to a negative self-image. Yoga can help counter these pressures and stress, and can also provide a sense of physical connection and community in a highly digital world. When children learn techniques for self-health, relaxation and inner fulfillment, they can navigate through life’s challenges with a little more ease.
